The Construction Research center
The Construction Research Centre is an Independent Laboratory that caters to Concrete, Cement, Aggregate and Admixture testing requirements of the industry. Facilities at this state-of-the-art Research Centre include a modern wet concrete lab and mini plants to test different blends of cement.
Located in the heart of Colombo at 865 1/1, Dr. Danister De Silva Mawatha, Colombo 09, the Research Center will test and certify aggregate, cement, and admixtures used in concreting, in compliance with Local and International Standards, all under one roof.

This ISO 17025 certified Construction Research Center is equipped with latest scientific equipment to conduct accurate and timely tests on all materials and mechanical properties of concrete mix designs used in modern high-rises and mega infrastructure projects. The Lab provides testing facilities to verify long term durability of concrete, using an array of modern testing methods such as Chloride penetration test, water penetration test etc., and it is equipped to carry out Non-Destructive Testing of hardened Concrete.
It also has the capability to formulate concrete Mix Designs to meet specific customer requirements, including the formulation of specialized concrete such as Low-Drying Shrinkage Concrete, High Strength Concrete, Underwater Concrete, Low-Heat Concrete, Self-Compaction Concrete, Pervious Concrete etc.
The Construction Research Centre is equipped to develop special flowable screed, light weight concrete filling material and other light weight pre-cast products.
The Lab can also perform tests on next generation of construction products, such as testing of dry mortar products such as tile Adhesives, Plasters, Water Proofers, etc. according to International Standards.
The Construction Research Centre is manned by trained and highly qualified staff capable assessing technical properties of concrete and perform intricate trouble shooting tasks to solve specific issues faced by customers.
